Dragonflies

Voy Kay 15 Apr 2020

I'm very fond of these kind of skies, whether they are Bob Ross related or not. This time, I was in need of an African painting for my wall that was vertically oriented, so my choice fell on this one.
Canvas used was a high quality 16"x20", prepared with liquid white because of the desired pastel atmosphere.
Hardest part were the leaves and cattails since I could hardly let them stick on the canvas and the green colour shade in the paint never came through.
The dragonflies are a fun attribution where I wanted to paint some more yet was exhausted this afternoon. I might add some on a later date! Perhaps some greenish accents as well!

Great idea! this is like from my childhood times, however, just in Siberia.
Very nice transitions in the sky!

Thank you dear, I seem to hold a strong affectionfor this particular type of sky paintings.
Dragonflies in Siberia …. wonderous world! I must say I visited the Siberian edge only (3 times to Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk)) and Always in early autumn.. Crazy drivers there!!!!

Ahaha you did not meet Houston drivers :) there is so much road rage there.
The dragonflies are quite abundant at some time in the summer... don´t remember which month though..
Sverdlovsk is 350 km from my home town.

Ah, I was in Houston (remember I am space crazy!) in 2013. Quite a busy city indeed! From there on, I went to Louisiana for one day. I miss the States, visited 27 states only and so many more to see and explore there!
It is a small world afterall, is it not? Stay safe my friend!

What a beautiful sky. 🤩

Mmmmm …. was thinking today …. should I put in some kind of fisherman's cabin in there, on the left horizon?

What you decided?

The family is against it …. I am pro …. what to do???

Hide it for 3 days and then look again. This is wonderful as it is. But I think not looking at it for a while could be helpful to decide what is your final say.

I think your ideas would never burn out!
Well done!

Thank you Jin, I try to stay sharp as well as creative!

Decision has been made …… I will keep the painting as it is! Maybe in a few weeks, I might add a dragonfly and put some dark green shade on the leaves, that's all.

Great decision!
